SOooo looking to trade in the tahoe but having some issues with the trade value. Ive looked at autotrader for what they are listed at (03/04 over 100K) and looked up nada and KBB which put average at 8K. id be just fine at 8k but looking at 6k from dealers since they want to send it to auction.

Questions are what is worth fixing before selling it.

1. front bumper is dented and needs new fog lights
2. Driver arm rest is cracked (Leather)
3. Side of driver seat by controls is peeling (looks like crap)

So is it worth the money to fix these?

im estimating

1. 275-300
2. 50-75
3. 185 or less

I wouldn't fix it, that's to be expected for a used vehicle. You won't get any more money from a dealer for fixing those small issues.

only reason im considering it is the first impressions on it since its the front bumper and the driver seat. everything else is fine on it but these 3 spots and i had hell at the first dealer with him trying to get me to come down to 6k. theyre listed on autotrader from 10-12.5k so 8k shouldnt be a stretch

I'd get a bumper from a junkyard for under $200 and just swap it out. One from a 99-02 Silverado will fit, as well as a 00-06 Tahoe or Burban.

Did you ever get the cluster fixed? :dunno: If not, send it to me and I'll go ahead and fix it for you. Like I said, I have a few used stepper motors. Just pay for shipping, I got the rest.

I would think it should trade for 6000 - 7000. At least that's what the people I deal with are paying these days. Market is a bit soft and they aren't bringing anywhere near book retail on lots. They are ASKING a lot, but they are quite negotiable.

I would get the bumper. The 2wd would kill value in the north, which is why I would say take care of every little other thing that is reasonable, and may be detractor to add to the 2wd.

Good luck man!

Fixing the bumper would be a help. 4WD actually takes away from the price here quite often. Many buyers simply will not buy a 4WD.

We no havee snow to deal with though.
