Oh, that's not the one I am buying, that's just a photo of a console from the net. Yeah, the one I am looking at has full leather.

It can be done. I've seen it done by a few people on GMT. If I remember right, I think you also have to change the lower dash panels along with the console. Plus you'd have to rewire the sockets (minor wiring splices). and The rear seat audio controls in the back of the console will be useless, you can't integrate them into a pre-03 truck.

Yeah. It's an ex-Texas ride. It was down there until late 2004 and then once it got to Indiana it only saw about 6K miles/year. That explains a lot about why it's so clean.

I'm buying it today, I'm 99% certain. Once I do I'll post some pics. Obviously the GM leather is worn but that's GM leather for ya. I'm trying to convince the wifey that at the first sign of a blow out we're gonna have to get some Katskinz or some CST covers.

Oh, it has the tan interior which I am not a fan of but with the overall condition of this thing, I can't complain. Everything works like it should and it's clean.

Did I say it was clean? :D

You could always do like I did and upgrade to the 03-06 style seats. I like the design of those seats a lot better. And I know what you mean about the tan interior, my 01 has the tan interior as well. For some reason tan always looks dirty. Its got the two tone dash, tan (medium neutral) on top, and a shale bottom with a shale console. The ones with leather usually came with shale leather (which I'm assuming yours is). I swapped in some two tone tan/shale seats from an 04 Denali. They are a perfect match to my interior as they are tan seats with shale inserts. And my door panels are also tan with shale inserts and arm rests.

Two tone FTW!!

Thanks!!!

But, if it doesn't fit perfectly, without a gap, I'm not going to do it. I'd rather find some constructive way to remove and replace the tape deck before I go and do something like that.

Yeah, Thats what I did. I installed a DVD player where the tape deck was. But I've seen other people install the 03 bezel to do a double din conversion to fit a larger stereo, and the 03 bezel covered that gap and lined everything up smooth. Here are some pics of my console with an Icon-TV dvd player in the spot where the tape deck was. Its slightly narrower than a single din stereo , but so was the dvd player. After getting it adjusted right to line up perfectly with the hole, it looks perfect in that spot.
