I don't know what the back side of your rear seat looks like, but if nothing fills that gap between the two black trim pieces, that looks like a promising place for an amp.

I love the wire loom on the speaker wires--I should have thought of that instead of just changing how I ran them. It would be a PITA, though, to get the wire loom through the rubber boot (accordion?) between the door and the cab.

Don't know about the space between the 2 (vents?) on the back of the seat. I have a sub/amp box theory for under neath.:dunno:

The wire loom thing. I don't know how Ford does/did it but GM wraps the power wires in tape. SO after I removed the speaker wires and re taped I ran loom around it. I then wraped tape around the speaker wire(I figured it was good enough to protect factory wire) and stuffed/pulled it through the accordian boot next to the wire loomed power wires then when it came out of the accordian I started my run of 3/8" and split to 1/4" for the 2 seperate wires.

Even though I said in the OP you could reverse that re thinking it I don't think there was room for a taped bundle of wires(that barely fit in the 3/8" loom )AND the speaker wire in the 3/8" loom .

IF I had smaller spkr wire that would have fit in 1/4" loom basically no prob.(about the same diameter as the paired 12 gauge taped):dunno:
