Like Brian said, if you lived closer you could bring it over, put it on my lift and we could knock out the ball joints no problem.

I'm changing out all four disc brake pads and rotors on a friends Crown Vic tomorrow. He doesn't have anyplace where he lives to work on it. So he is coming down tomorrow morning and well put it on the lift change them out.

Not to high jack this thread but how hard is it to change out the fuel pump on a 2002 Silverado extended cab? I think mine is going bad, it has a hard time starting first try when it is warmed up. If I go to start it cranks and cranks. But if I stop and start again it fires right up. So instead of running my starter, I usually just turn the key and then release and turn it again and it fires right up. I just turned 136k. I take it, I have to pull the bed off to get to the fuel pump, correct?

If you take the bed off it will be relatively easy. I did one a few months ago but I lifted the bed up with the bobcat. Just 4 bolts on yours, I believe.

So does my issues sound like the fuel pump? Not sure how to take a fuel pressure reading. I don't have a gauge to use. I just feel I'm putting my starter through unnecessary use by having to turn the key twice most of the time to start it.

I am going to attempt the pump swap myself this weekend on my 07. Am I gonna be better off taking the bed off, or dropping the tank? I have a Line-X bed liner so I'm guessing I'd have to cut around my bolts to get them out? Almost sounds like I'd be better off dropping the tank.

EDIT: Looks like the bolts on GMT-900s don't go into the bed. Can anyone tell me what all holds the bed to the frame??

Your symptoms are the exact same as mine and mine was diagnosed as pump.

Go to YouTube. I found a video on how to remove the pump and bed.

I just watched a couple. Hope the 800s are the same as the 900s.

I can't find anyone with a fuel pressure gauge. Hate to buy one and then never use it again. So far all I can find is $26. If I lived near a Harbor Freight then it would only be $20.
