Drove 150 miles to my parents tonight. After about 100 miles or so the stabilitrak and traction control started to turn off then back on every few miles. I got to my parents and parked the truck then went out about an hour later and started it and it took a couple cranks to start. This is weird because it always has started first time every time. Drove down to road to look at a combine with my dad then came back. When we got back the truck had a horrible whine that I hadn't heard before. I investigated a bit and its coming from back by the fuel tank.

I just had my truck Blackbear tuned and put premium fuel in the truck for the first time. I also had new tires put on recently.

I am thinking the fuel pump is going out and possibly when I got new tires one of the wheel sensors maybe got knocked. Any thoughts???

Sounds like gremlins I'd say check for codes, check the grounds and clean if needed, and unhook the negative terminal on the battery for a few minutes.

Anyone have issues with the check valve in the fuel system going bad? Its almost like the fuel has drained away from the engine when I go to start so it has to reprime itself.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that check valve is in the fuel pump.

It didn't store any codes and I'm not gettin the stabilitrak issue anymore. Just the long start. Can the valve be changed or is it integrated into the pump?

I'm assuming you are talking about the regulator. That's in the tank and its all in one with the bucket assembly.

Get a fuel pressure guage and check the pressure at the rail. Check when primed, running, and leave connected and see if it dropped more than 5-10% after 15 minutes.

Check valves do fail. It is part of the pump assembly. I'd bet your pump is failing. Put on pressure gauge and get the reading, key on, engine off. Post it. See how long it will hold pressure after you turn key off. 55-62 lbs is the spec. Even 1 lb or so below spec will make a difference in how the vehicle starts/runs

I will do this tomorrow after work after i get a gauge. Am I correct in assuming if pressure is low while key on the problem is the pump? Whereas of all pressures are fine but it loses pressure after key off its the check valve?
