In today's world I'd be concerned about that from any manufacturer. They all like coming up with creative ways to void warranties.

Exactly. If I had the fund, I'd just get ordinary truck and customize it like Leo. Build it the way you want it.

when you think about it the truck is really a bargain! Its already lifted and has a wider long travel suspension with Fox shocks. Wide body panels and a killer interior, plus its proven itself at Baja! No trial and error on your part to figure out which parts work. Lets say you do buy a new 4x4 truck for about 30k, then factor in the suspension, body panels, Fox shocks, wheels and tires and customizing the interior, oh and fabrication cost. How much are you gonna spend in the end compared to a $45K raptor with the 6.2 :dunno:
The only thing that bugs me about the raptor (no its not the grill) are the BFGs, not a fan! I had them on a 84 f150 I had and I hated them!

My concern(especially with Ford) is if you use these truck for what they were built for and break it, will the dealer cover the damage under warranty?

Nope. I have a hard time fathoming that myself, but it was a discussion on our F150 forum and they don't cover off road damage. I see why, but then they are basically saying that their "proven baja truck" can only be drivin on the street with the occasional off road trip. That makes it sound like a marketing scam to me when you think of it that way because you would be afraid to use the truck as it is intended

SVT's come with a very limited warranty, needless to say. My uncle bought a 99 Lightning and they made a point of letting him know the warranty wasn't gonna cover anything they felt was brought on by racing, abuse etc. They stay on the SVT's pretty good when it comes to warranty work.

The local dealer here in my area actually has 2 of them. I've stopped and looked em over a little and I can honestly say I'm not that impressed. They look sorta cool, but I don't care for the grille at all. I don't care for the decals and the wheels. So there's 3 things right off the bat I'd have to change in order for me to truly love it.

FWIW, that white Raptor posted earlier is the best looking one I've seen. I'm not feeling that orange or whatever Ford's calling it you see on 99% of the Raptors.

It's still a concept and a pretty good one, I still have to wait for them to improve it.

I saw one today I rode behind it and noticed the hideous 3rd brake light, I don't know if it was stock or not but it was :puke:
