So what if I am picky?

so I've been trying to sale my truck for about a year now. Not to much of a market for the "custom trucks" so I returned it back to stock. (for the most part)

I have been looking at a couple different trucks seeing that itll be the last truck for a LONG time. I want it with certain options n etc... New and used but mostly used. came across a few gems but they didnt last to long

The biggest thing, that grinds my gears, is when having to go to the stealerships. those clowns say "oh well you dont need 3.73 gears or you dont need a crew cab or go for a z71 you can tow more with it". my response is "well you just lost the sale by telling me what i do need and dont need" then walk out.

its always great to see them come running out to "try" to save what they lost.

missed and passed up a GREAT deal on a 2009 ecsb 6speed, 3.42s, leather etc... it only had 11k miles and never wrecked or anything. the old guy that had it was just wanting to get rid of it for what he owed (15k)

told him i wanted it, called the bank to let them know i found the truck i wanted. they approved of the loan etc. called him back and someone just came by and offered him 1500 over what he was asking.

saw it end up on a local stealership lot for 25k!

I was really picky when I bought mine. I knew the option package, gearing, engine (flex fuel), etc that I wanted. I lucked out and found one that fit everything (even color) that was only a couple hours away.

Good luck with yours. I also hate salesmen who won't just sell you what you want. I am looking for something specific. You either have it or you don't!

Another epic story...

Drove all the way up by where Jarrod lives to check this one truck out. The owner of the lot told me oh it has a couple lil scratches. Their body shop guy said 150 to fix it. ( I thought awesome)

I get up there the whole driver side, and passenger side was scratched, dented etc... The passenger door between the fender and door was popped out. Windsheild wipers were broken to the point they flew up when i was driving it on the hwy.

Im guessing a easy 2k in body work. sales guy said oh well I am 2 cars away from my monthly. so I will knock it down from 12900 to 11900. but will only hold that deal till wed. i told him no thanks and walked out.

Stupid SOB called me Thursday morning at 830am left me a voice mail. "Jason I havent heard from you, you said you were gonna call me yesterday, you made me look really bad in front of my manager, I told him I lowered the price to keep you interested, I brought the truck down 1k for you. Please call me back"

REALLY? I never said I was going to call you back or anything I told you "NO THANKS" I wasted 50 something in gas, as well as my day. The pictures online were clearly doctored and edited. I took some of my own haha!

Stick to your guns. Every truck I have ever "settled" on, regardless of how small the details, I have ended up getting rid of because I wasn't happy with it. You are the one spending your money, don't let the a-hole salesmen push you into something you don't want or won't be happy with.

good luck man. i had similar issues when looking for mine. they would look good online but not inperson or had been just sold. then came across this one in the morning drove to check it out and brought it home that night

I looked for more than a year... Finally decided to order. There just wasn't any with the options I wanted nor the color. Close.. but not close enough.
