is getting the 3M tape cover an option or do you still want to deflect bugs? that stuff can be colour matched, you`d never know it is there. decal shops around here do that. but if you get the deflector go black. is your chrome one peeling? all the chrome ones i`ve ever seen peel after they get a pin hole in it. :dunno:

You can paint your deflector yourself.....just make sure you scuff it really good and use a plastic adhesion promoter( I use Mar-cote I think) and color match paint. It ll cost you some time and about $30 for promoter, sandpaper and paint.

I have clear 3-M protective film on the front of the Cadillac.
That stuff is REALLY GOOD...It actually does what they claim it does.

The film is starting to get pretty beat up in places, but there is not a single rock chip in the paint after 70,000 miles.

I got a smoked one on my Burban that I gots from Pep Boys for like 60 bucks. I got quite a few chips in my hood (and windshield) before I installed it since I drive a lot of gravel roads during deer season to get to the deer lease. It didnt help with protecting my windshield, but my hood has no new chips in it.
