I'd run a wire brush over it to get even more of the rust off. It looks a ton better though.

You did an awesome job there and Carl has a good point but may I ask why you decided to run the cast iron instead of looking for an aluminum intake? I've taken 390s apart alot and those intakes weigh about the same as a complete 4 cyl motor.

I know one reason was cost for the aluminum which was $300 plus shipping from summit etc. I dont know if that was 2 or 4 bbl. though. Actually this intake came off of a 64 t-bird and I'm run it on a 68 390 truck engine in my 67 F100.

Dave, if you sold all your junk as scrap, you'd be able to just go buy a new truck.

Maybe I dont want a new truck. LOL

Thinking on a buying a newer 4x4 Ford truck depending where I work at in the schools co op program. If I end up at the Ford dealership then mostly will happen.

That is pretty cool. Touch up with a bead blaster and you're ready to paint it next year!

So, what does a Co-Op net you in a truck discount.

Do tell!

Really good results. I do a similar thing with Roman Coins I have shipped in from Russia. On a smaller scale of course.
