I have one of those wire pullers that snakes out like 30 feet. Good idea.

I was hoping for something easy. Is the harness something that is easy to see when the headliner is down? Should be easy to find if it's there. The ones I've seen were taped to the roof.

And I have another question for any one.......Why is the three center lights closer together than the outside ones? Good question.

Because it all goes back to the Federal requirements for markers.

The two outer lights are supposed to designate the outer corners of the vehicle, and the three inner lights are to show that the vehicle is more than 80 inches wide. They're often called "over 80 lights".
