Recommend me a DVD player for the Tahoe

I was thinking about getting something like this for the equinox.

What about a tablet with a case that hangs off the headrest?

I've thought about that. We have an iPad (the OG). Unfortunately, with the update to itunes, I can no longer put movies on it. I've thought about getting an android tablet of some kind, but haven't yet. I figure a dvd player will be a bit cheaper than a tablet of decent value...

Say what? I just sold my original iPad to a buddy for the exact same purpose you are looking and he can use it just fine.

Say what? I just sold my original iPad to a buddy for the exact same purpose you are looking and he can use it just fine.

I dunno what it is. Movies I used to be able to load on here, will no longer load. There is an error message that pops up every time. I've reinstalled itunes, reset the ipad. Hell, even on a clean install of windows 7 and a new itunes install, it still won't work. I found other cases of it happening to others.

Yeah, tried that. Still no go. There is an update for itunes on my computer, but it won't update (gets about halfway done and fails...). I think I will have to spend more time on it (uninstall, download new version, install as admin, etc) for it to work. Supposedly, from what I have read, it is supposed to fix the transfer issue.

But, the ipad is 4+ years old, and keeps freezing/stopping certain apps while they are running (Netflix, Videos, Youtube). I think the hardware can't cope too well with the software anymore.

Yeah, tried that. Still no go. There is an update for itunes on my computer, but it won't update (gets about halfway done and fails...). Hmm. Well, at least it's worth a shot if it saves you from having to spend more on something new.

Went ahead and pulled the trigger on an Asus MeMo Tab 10. Had a good deal on it, specs are great, played with it in the store. I actually got it as a Christmas present for the wife (she's been needing [wanting] something), and it'll double as a media distractionator for the little one on trips. Should work better, since it has a micro SD slot. Swap out cards and bam, instant distraction for the kiddo.

As far as the itunes issue...I still can't get it to update. It keeps saying I need to have admin privileges, which I have. I tried running as admin, tried extracting the install file, nada. Any ideas?

Never mind. Got it. All it took was changing the install folder...weird. According to Apple support, the only way to fix it was a clean install of windows...typical.

Have you tried with iTunes on a different machine entirely?

Yeah, tried it on our laptop. Had the same issue. Got it to install the new itunes by changing the install folder. Now I can transfer movies...

I've got to say, its much easier to just drag and drop stuff to a drive (SD card) than go through itunes...but at least it works again.
