Am I missing something or is there one question that is getting over looked?

If you are talking about Diesels, there is a very good chance it will have a 6L90 (assuming you go GM). In that case with the power of a Diesel and a 6 speed tranny 3.73's will do more than you want them to.

Since you are coming from a 1500, I think 3.73s paired with a Diesel will make you feel like you are in a Semi compared to your 5.3.

:werd:

3.73s should be more than enough with the torque of the diesel.

+1

Leave the 3.73's in there.

 Thanks guys, I will carry sometimes the slide-camper and never tow.
My 1500 had the 6,0L with 3:73 rear axle and it was well, in mountains too, except the mpg with gas prices here !!
I think I will go to 3:73 with diesel which is cheaper than gas in Europe (actually in France diesel 1 euro/liter and gas 95 1,24 euros !!).
Gm if I find a good price, but they are very expensive !!! F350 et ram 3500 are cheaper for the same level.

If you aren't 100% on a Duramax, keep an eye for a Cummins as well. Those are solid motors, but get the 6 speed manual if you go this route.
