In this particular shot you can see the color I think the coils should be. That lower section of the coil was shot in a slightly lighter coat, it's NOT the lighting.

I still like the darker. It'll stand out from the black but just enough. I am afraid with that lighter color and with a bunch of pieces it may stick out too much. I could be wrong too, it happens every once in a great while.

I know I agree with T. The lighter color will be more "look at me" the darker will be a nice contrast but cleaner look.
It is going to look awesome when you get it done.

Just decided on trying something different from the norm.
Instead of leaving the fin edges polished like most finned diff covers, I'm going to have the fin edges in copper, the rest of the diff cover in the black texture.
This way I still get a hint of the copper accent color but it's not overkill. The tricky part is, shooting the copper on the fins, masking them off with plastic pcoat tape, them putting it in the oven again with the mask tape over the fresh powder. When you heat the cover again for the black fine texture you run the chance of damaging the copper pcoat when the tape is pulled off, if you time it wrong.
Worst case scenario, I have to sand down the fins to bare aluminum, polish them then have them paint matched in the copper.
I like that idea.

So. Apparently if we go thicker on the coils, there is a chance the powder would crack, which wouldn't be good. So, I'm going to leave the coils as is, and try and spray the UCA's and skidplate a bit lighter, but not as light as the copper on the swatch. Then the tops and bottoms of the KING coilovers will probably match the swatch closely, so I'll have variations of the same color, might look really interesting. I think if everything matched the exact same color it might just all blend in and be bleh.
