Isn't it about time for Chevy to step up their game and compete with these trucks?

I wouldn't buy one if there was one... So hopefully they stay out of it... I think that Ford did well with Rapture sales but I think that Dodge is smart. Not making it a assembly line truck and letting people add it after they buy. If they want it they will pay for it no questions asked.

The Ram Runner kit retails for around $15k through Mopar or about $7k through Kore (who builds it for Mopar). If you figure you can buy a decently equipped Ram for around $30k with discounts, you could build the Ram Runner for the same price or cheaper than the Raptor (even using the Mopar version of the kit). I just think they should do it from the factory rather than consumers having to do it after purchase. The markup on a Ram Runner done through a dealership must be outrageous, the only one I have seen on ebay was listed for over $60k.

I disagree with this because I believe that if they engineered a assembly line to accommodate this truck of which would most likely not run on the same Ram 1500 line it would not be profitable. If people want it they will make more money off of it as a accessory package. But that's just my thought...

I think it was a smart choice. If it fails there is no loss for them.

this was the best chevy ever did as far as competing with the raptor
to me it looks more like power wagon competition.

I doubt GM will jump in.

These specialty market vehicles don't usually make much of a profit. They are more "look at us" vehicles that don't sell in huge numbers. The real money is in selling everyday trucks.

In Tucson I see at least 10 Raptors on a trip across town and they are not sitting on dealer lots. Granted living in the desert I think the trucks numbers might be higher here but the darn things are everyplace!!

If GM built that ZR2 or they bodied the Silverado to look like it that would be a big win for GM that truck looks so bad ass!!

One video had the prices.

Raptor $50K

Ram Runner $65K

To compare what your getting for the money: A Raptor and 15K more into it and I think you would have a truck that could be faster in sections of that track and would slaughter the Ram Runner....

They are both pretty dam cool. I used to race in the area where they were at and that terrain is no joke. It was amazing to see that Ram Runner hit those woops so hard!! The Raptor could fly over the hard pack and the sand.

If you have raced in the desert it's hard and expensive to have something that can do everything well. That's why trophy trucks cost so much and make everything look so easy and those fWONkers fly!!! If you ever have the chance to see an off road race in the desert they are completely amazing to see in person. It's the only way to truly have feel for what they are doing and the the terrain and what it takes you to get there vs how they blast through it.

The trucks are called "black widow" and z92. Southern Comfort does the work and they have the same warranty as any other truck there.
