I just installed a pioneer head unit that I had in my previous car. My problem that I am having is that I can't pick up radio stations very well. They are all fuzy. I have checked the antenna again to make sure it was connected and it is. I never had a problem in my other vehicle or when I had my stock stereo in the truck. Any ideas as to what could cause this?:dunno:

Do you have a power antenna? Or perhaps an antenna made into the rear glass? If so, sometimes those need to be powered just like a power antenna.

:dunno: No clue then. Its hard to diagnose without me looking at it. The next thing I would check is to make sure the antenna plug is fully seated in the radio. And then add a second ground wire to the radio. Ground it to a solid metal part of the dash that is grounded.

Might you need a antenna extension when you install the radio or what I mean is maybe the antenna plug is not going in enough in the radio. When I installed my radio in my truck I had to get a extension.

Yeah, I have an extension on it. It doesn't do it all the time, just about 85% of the time. I have it grounded to the bolt that holds the stereo in, which I have always done and never had a problem. Should I move it elsewhere?

If it is an intermittent problem, it sounds like there is a bad connection somewhere. Make sure your extension is connected to both the antenna and the radio tightly. It could also be a pinched/broken antenna or extension wire. See if one of the cables looks like it has been pinched or bent hard.

I think I have determined my antenna wire is bad, I can move it around and it cuts in and out. Anyone know where to get one at?
