Remember to ground your "in park" wire so you can watch movies on the go. :D


this is good advice to a point. I just installed a Clarion DVD deck (so this might not pertain to alpine) and the ground wire for the DVD trigger needed to be reset every time you start the truck or the DVD (cant remember when) it was a gremlin I chased for 2 days trying to figure out. it is designed to look for a ground disruption and when it does see it, it doesn’t work. all I did was put an inline switch on the brake wire and it worked.

If it were mine, i would have wired a relay to kill the signal with the key on switch.

the guy I installed for bought the expensive harness but I didn’t have to use the "extra" stuff that made it so spendy.

good luck with the install. the bezel is a bitch to get out. just pull till you think it’s gonna break, then keep pulling

That seems easy... but i just found a random relay laying around my house and in 5 minutes had it bypassed :lol:

I cant wait for everything to get here. Hopefully nothing gets delayed because I need it all to install at once! Im only taking the dash bezel out one time If I have to!!!!
