Only way I ever heard of a Sheriff making big money was if he was raking it off the top... OR making good money in a side job (or business).

If you are in the higher division in that field you are mkaing $75k and up. Than again he has and she has a good 15 years in they field.

I come from a family of military and law enforcement. I'd bet the number of Sheriffs in this country making over 80K are less than 50. It's an honorable profession and I love my family but it's not a get rich occupation.

A job you could not pay me enough to do or deal with the BS daily. I respect the ones that are not on a high horse or have a chip on their shoulder. Anymore majority of them are friendly, not that I get in trouble with the law.

Makes much more sense for the government to crush it and get $250 for scrap metal than to clean up the title and sell it for a LARGE profit. Much more sense.
