I have put a barbed fitting on the fuel tank and an inline shutoff on an old dirt bike before. I didn't have ant reserve after that, but who cares.....:dunno:

Yep,at least you're ridin'
You got that right, barbed fittings are cheap and lawnmwers have fuel shut offs.... At least one used to.....

You sound like me Ken,whatever works

My friends call me McGyver
You got to do what ever gets the job done..... One car I had I had put in a cheap Spark-O-Matic floor shifter, I cut out the stops on the column so it showed what gear I was in and the factory neutral safety switch still worked. That was on a '64 Chevy. I built my own battery charger from a generator once also.

I would like to do that. But the petcock is part of the carb. I would have to replace the carb and all then.

Ah ha,now I see your concern. It appears the petcock is on the float bowl.Don't remember seeing one like this,I'll go check my '94 xr100 and see how it's set up.IIRC it has a petcock on the tank(all my bikes are in the toy hauler and it's in a storage lot).I'll check back later
