I have put a barbed fitting on the fuel tank and an inline shutoff on an old dirt bike before. I didn't have ant reserve after that, but who cares.....

One car I had I had put in a cheap Spark-O-Matic floor shifter, I cut out the stops on the column so it showed what gear I was in and the factory neutral safety switch still worked. That was on a '64 Chevy. I built my own battery charger from a generator once also.
