I bought these connectors hoping they would plug into the stock connectors that are very similar. But… they are too small. Sooooo, I am hoping to find some good used connectors in the salvage yard. That is if I can find the time to go aaaaand… find an old Dodge that has a good set. I may have to find another solution.
When that did not work I removed all the old CB wiring. I will be reinstalling the old CB my granddaddy had but I will be running new cable and a modern antenna. I had the CB gone through and a CB shop some years back so it should be working like new
I was given this today because it was "blown." I tested it and it works fine. This works out great because I prefer having a power inverter in all my trucks. I think I found a good spot to hard mount it under the dash out of the way but still easily accessible.
I know I have not been updating this build much. Since I moved into the new shop I have been busy with other stuff. I have been chipping away at the old Dodge when I could though. I am almost finished with it. Install the interior parts, wire up the new ignition and finish the brake lines is all that is left. However, I recently received a new job offer that changes everything. I will be in training for the next nine months. I will have weekends off here and there during that time, but I do not know how often. Anyhoo, here is where I am at now.
I got the rust sorted out on the floor board. It was very minor surface rust so I just applied a rust converter over it. I will be painting blue over that today I hope. The engine is all put together and once the ignition wiring is done it is ready to fire up. I found an electric fan that fits inside the stock fan shroud perfectly. But I am out of time so I cannot wire it up. I just reinstalled the stock fan clutch to get by until I can do it the way I want.
I was very disappointed when I found this. I have had the original floor mat in storage. It looked great when I stuck it in the box. Now it has tears in it.
I painted over the rust converter with blue Rustoleum. I know it does not match but I was expecting the floor mat to cover it.
