That's cool! Can't replace the miles put on that one. Very cool!

If the weather would just help me out, I may see this truck back on the road very soon.

Look at the difference in the springs. I hope this old truckwill not ride like a tank. Friday I will be getting new brake lines, shocks, and bushings.

Ran into my first hang up. I cannot believe I did not noticethis. Had I known, this would have been a deal breaker. I have a full tear downplanned for this truck. So I do not want to get into a lot of mods nor do Iwant to spend a lot of money on this stage of the build. The brackets that holdthe lower control arms on the later model truck are significantly stronger. They are built into the crossmember and are dimpled. They also have larger passthrough holes for the bigger bolts that holds it together. If I drill out theolder and weaker stand alone brackets on the 72 I am going to take out a lot ofmaterial. The components from the later model are much larger and heavier thanthe old stuff. I know there are a lot of ways to address this issue. And if Ihave the time and budget it would not be an issue. But right now I have tofigure out how to move forward without sacrificing quality of work, and withouttouching the budget. Not to mention the tight time frame I am under.

It's a shame that you can't put the cab body and bed on the newer frame. :dunno:

It would be nice to do a frame swap. If the later model was not six feet shorter I would.

I am looking forward to it.
