So far they are working out. They did have their quality control issues. But, for a budget head they are performing killer. And as long as they hold a seal I'm happy.

Before you invest any time and costly valvetrain parts make sure every intake, exhaust and accessory bolt hole is located exactly where they are supposed to be. Once it checks out I would spend some time with a die grinder and a dremel to clean up the bowls & guides.

I would also use self aligning rockers with them, when I put mine together with standard pushrod guide plates it made for a funky valve stem tip to rocker alignment. I then used adjustable guide plates, self aligning rockers would be a better option.

Project Never Finished update.

New cam day, I decided to retire the Comp XR276HR-10 and instead try a Howards single pattern 282 (229 @ .050", .544" lift with the 1.7 rockers) on a 108 lobe sep, I opted to install the cam 4 degrees retard, which in reality is zero due to +4 degrees ground into the cam in the name of bringing the dynamic compression down just a bit in favor of using pump gas. The 108 lobe sep will promote torque so retarding it will help shift that torque curve higher in the rev.

A while back I also bolted down a Summit brand 750cfm carb (holley 4010) in the name of trying something different as well as ease of tuning without draining fuel bowls. I am, however considering going back to a Demon.

Awaiting the return of a header that's getting some welding work done at the exhaust shop before I finish it up and see how she do.
