I haven't had these very long. I think I put them in on the 4th of July. And also my truck doesn't get driven a lot at night (maybe 15 minutes 4 days a week if that).

Well, my low-beam bulb on the driver's side has been flakey the last 2 or 3 weeks. I thought it was just a bad connection of the power going into the ballast (since the passenger side was working just fine). So unplugging it and plugging it back in seemed to work. I also put some di-electric grease in it just in case.

Well, just now I turned on my headlights and the driver's side low-beam didn't turn on. I unplugged it several times (like 6-10) and still nothing. So I unplugged the low-beam bulb from the low-beam ballast and plugged in the high-beam bulb (known to be good) to the low-beam ballast. Still nothing. So then I put my ear next to the ballast and could hear it buzzing. However, it was buzzing at a much higher frequency than the properly-functioning passenger side (I assumed that this was due to the fact that it wasn't putting out any current to the bulb so it was trying to burn it off internally or something; ya know, making power but no where to put it to).

So, I am going to email DDM, but I'd like some further input as to what to tell them and what not. I will be sending them the paragraphs I typed above.

Any input would be greatly appreciated; about the email or the problem (and don't say my wiring is wrong, it worked fine since day one).

There's no such thing as making power and having nowhere to put it, if it makes it, it's gonna put it somewhere. That's physics 101, energy cannot be created or destroyed. It's just not working.

OK......I still know that the ballast is the problem and not the bulb (since I tested it with a fully functioning bulb connected to it).

Just checked DDM's site. The Apexcone's are on sale for $25 for 35w ($5 off).

They'll take good care of ya. I had an issue (shipping issue) and they took care of me right quick and told me to keep the extra bulb in case I ever had a need for it. I'd say give them a call as that seemed to work better for me.

Well tonight leaving work, I turned them on and the driver's side didn't come on. I think I cycled them at least 6 times and still nothing. Looks like I'll be putting my halogens back in for now :( :fume:.

I'll be emailing DDM later tonight.
