Ok, for all of you who live where you actually get winter. What do you do in the fall to prep your vehicles for the long cold winter?

1. Change oil/filter
2. Grease the 2 zerks I still have :)fume:),
3. Clean the air filter
4. Clean the engine bay
5. Wax my wheels
6. Get my Auto Butler paint sealant/detailing done
7. Wax. (once the Auto Butler program expires after 5 years).
8. Check the battery (depending on age).
9. Check the coolant.
10. Rotate the tires.

Usually just ends up being wax. The other stuff you mentioned just happens when it's "due". :dunno:

Oh, and with the amount of miles I'm driving, it looks like I'll be due for an oil change right in the middle of January. Fun.

If you can call what we get in sourthern NM "winter," I always try to wash and wax it before it gets cold (comparatively). All the other stuff I tend to keep pretty good track of regardless of the time of year, except clean the engine bay which I never do. Although, changing the oil every 5k miles has turned into 6k miles and every other month :fume:

I just got finished waxing the vehicles, wheels included. I have free maintenance from the dealer for a few more visits, so they'll do the greasing and oiling for now, tires are still too new for a rotation, though probably sometime during the winter.

You get any snow in your area there Jeff? I hear from a friend in the St Paul area that got snow over the weekend.

The only thing I do to prepare for winter is a thorough clay/polish/glaze/wax on the paint and wheels. The other maintenance items are taken care of when they are due.
