I know that to be true. For some reason the US seems to be the only country who does not use them as much.

Wider lanes and no limitation to the composed vehicle lenght, since only the semi-trailer has its size limited by law back there. Also, due to those enormous cabs, it would be harder to make a tilting setup for a longer one...

Bonnetted trucks are also still popular in Australia, altough Volvo currently sells only cab-overs back there just like Isuzu, Mercedes-Benz and Scania...

Some cab-overs from European manufacturers nowadays offer as many comfort features as a flagship sedan.

I must confess I still like more the classic looks of a stereotypical American big rig such as a Peterbilt, but nowadays European drivelines are not so far behind.
