Those Mercades cab overs can take one heel of a beating. i have seen them hit with IEDs and just keep rolling.

At least the older ones. Nowadays I don't really believe it would fare so well with all those onboard electronics...

The trucks in iraq I do not think had a lot of electronics. At least I do not remember.

Mainly older models from Mercedes-Benz and Isuzu, with all-mechanical injection, and also many Chinese copies of Isuzu and Steyr trucks (altough some of these are already fitted with common-rail).
