The Mustang has always been a popular car for aftermarket tuners, and perhaps more Mustangs have been modified by shops than any other car in history. Many great names have emerged from Mustang customization, Jack Roush being among the most famous. His latest creation, the Roush 5XR, carries on the tradition of power and handling with the all-new 5.0 liter V8 engine.
Whereas before we just had a few renderings, Mustangs Daily came across whole gallery of pictures of the 5XR in the flesh from Roush, giving us our first look of what this mean Mustang will really look like.
It is a good thing too, because just 150 examples will be built, meaning the chances of actually seeing one out in the wild are slim to none. By strapping a ROUSHcharger to the 5.0 liter V8 engine, they boost the horsepower from 412 to 525 ponies, a very nice bump. As one might expect from Roush, a complete suspension overhaul is also included in the $15,390 package, along with an exhaust and custom 20-inch chrome wheels.
Like other Roush Mustangs, this one has a simple body kit that really accentuates the lines of the Mustang without taking away from Ford’s design. The billet upper grille, front fascia, and chin spoiler don’t distract from the fine edges, while a rear valence and decklid spoiler really draw they eye towards the booty. Expect lots of badges inside and out as well, so nobody mistakes this Mustang for anything but a Roush.
