Paint your tail lights black!

The Hella LED are the only ones I have seen that have a DOT stamp on them, and the portion over the reflector isn't as dark. Are the ReCons legal?

Agreed on topic, I nearly rear-ended a Ford a while back at mid-day, I just couldn't see the lights.

I dont know about the recons... I have had them on my silverado.. and on the dodge I currently just have the 3rd brake light cover.

F the haters. I like my blacked out taillights. Of course you can go way to dark and then yes it is dumb, mine you can still see the red, it's a very light smoke.

I use to have tinted tails on my rumblebee and even though they looked awesome (to me at least) probably not the safest. mine were LED with a LED light bar

I put a light, light smoke on mine.

I agree, when I go with new taillights it will be Harley Tails with retroftitted LEDs in them

Worst part is, Josh just got it back from paint. Sucks but yeah, diminish the factory safety features and you are asking for trouble.
He's at the hospital now getting checked out.

That sucks. Looks like he had a lot of work in that truck. Hope it works out, but the lesson is don't paint your lights black and expect people to see you stopping.

Agreed. He got a sprained wrist, gf got whiplash and his truck got a ride on a rollback.
