pulled this, looked it up and its Engrish translation is "Aisin transmission controller has called for MIL". Aisin-Warner 4-speed auto, no shifting problems. i'm confuzzled:dunno:

also- she skips when the reader's plugged in, and doesnt throw a code, and then stops as soon as its unplugged :dunno:

All this code means is that a code is stored in the Transmission Control Module (TCM).
The TCM monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to Transmission control.
If any malfunction is detected, the TCM informs the PCM by sending a signal (P0700 code).

P0700 means that a code has been set in the TCM.
This code is for information ONLY.
If this code is present, check for Transmission codes.

That is odd. The AW4 is a very durable unit normally.

You will need a better scanner.
Most scanners only check ECM codes...ie... PCodes like this...your P0700.

I have never used it, but I have heard a lot of good reports about the "AUTO INGENUITY" code reader.
Supposedly it will read "ALL CODES"... just like the scanners the dealer uses.

It may be quicker and cheaper to run it by a dealer and have them read it and tell you what codes are stored in the TCM.

Post the codes...and we will go from there.

Good luck.

bah... i HATE the dealership. the closest dealer that services Jeeps has a mechanic that falsified a failure on my emissions, he never plugged the machine into my OBDii port before running the test. hes done this many times.

I'd take it to a reputable transmission shop, and have them scan it. It'll be cheaper than the dealer. :dunno:
