The vent solenoid could be leaking even though it's functioning. The P0446 is the purge valve up on the intake manifold, it could be going bad cause a loss of vacuum in the fuel system and causing the P0449 and P0446 to trip.

I Haven't had any trouble with the wiring myself so I'm not much help on it. But the parts are way cheaper than a trip to the dealership, so for lack of any better suggestion, throwing a few bucks worth of parts at it may save you hundreds from the dealerships.

If you do get your issue squared away, please post back and let others know what it took to fix your issue. We're adding all the info we can to this so it will help others.

And Welcome.:tmc:

Just did the change over today. Took about 30 minutes and all is well. I cleared the codes and they haven't come back on. By the way, I just changed the same part for the same part. It was cheaper and I figured that if it goes bad once every 50k miles, I will still come out ahead.

Thanks for the information everyone!

Congratulations,
I did exactly the same then you did. But in my case if I have less then 1/4 thank of gas lights go on, also when is rain longer then one day I getting this light back also. Then have to fuel up and wait for dry day. When it comes I re-set the computer and is cool until rain fall down or did not re-fuel thank. Strange...

That is strange, if you find a fix for it please post what you found to get it corrected.

No problem, if you find out any tips or comments that could help the next person please come back and add them. You may find an easier way or better way to do something and it could help someone else later.

Good luck and glad you joined. :tmc:

I am in the process of trying to change this on my 2006 Tahoe and find it a bit different. The car is new to me and I purchased an extended warranty. They tell me it is not covered because it's part of the Emissions - anyone have a thought on that? Otherwise it appears as though I am going to have to go through the same process of moving the vent....
