That's forsure Dave, well last night at 3am I was heading home from the gym and the truck turned off on me....I had a little less than 1/4 tank but no fuel light on so I pushed it to the gas station and filled her up and started right up....I guess I need to change the fuel sending unit now......

i wouldn't assume that so fast.

could be other things too. try to reproduce it again. if it gets to that point then and dies again, yeah could be a sending unit. but it could be a split in the pickup tube. like i said, let it run low again and see. does your distance remaining say low miles too or does it just read normal? it is linked to the sending unit also, and if it says your good with miles but you run out that says something. then when you do run it out, fill it up and see how many gallons you get in. if it isn't near 33-36, you have something other than a sending unit issue

All it has is the fuel gauage and at the end it says low range but it doest have a certain mile distance meter, I looked at a few forums and a couple other people had the same issue and they said its most likely the sending unit. I just filled for 24 gallons and it shows above full now but if it was empty and with 24 gallons it should be around 3/4 tank not above full right?
