:lurk: PTM grill. Paint the black and chrome of grill but leave the bumper black to match the flares. Friend of mine did that to his ZR2 of the same color and it looked really good. Otherwise the mods list looks good.
I think I will be PTM'ing the grill, but not the chrome strip across it. I like it as an accent piece to break up all the color. The bumpers will be bed-lined/Line-X along with the flares. I just need to find out how much that will cost me.

PTM grille FTW :D

Dennis, I haven't had a change to work on the AHL/DRL since there is no dash in the truck and the battery and ECM are disconnected/out of the truck. Just sent Jenna an email this evening to get the mail-order tune process started. I'm in no big hurry. The truck isn't going anywhere any time soon.

I've seen a fully PTM'd grill on a black S10 around town and it does look amazing, but I'd like to break up all the color with the chrome bar. If I don't like it, I can always take the bar off and PTM that too at a later time.

I'm surprised that the surround isn't PTM already... It was on mine...
You can probably save a ton of work and find one in your colour

Most ZR2's (that I've seen/noticed) don't have the PTM grill from the factory. :dunno:

If I paint one myself, do I have to sand the center honey comb section or can I just clean it up really good and paint it?

I did see a Blazer with a PTM grill in my color red....at Walmart.

The black inserts were never PTM, just the surround...

Oh thank God!! That makes it SOOOO much easier! :applause:

I was kinda planning on doing that anyways.

Unless the inserts come out (and easily), I'll have to carefully tape them off.

Im really anxious to see this progression Matt. Goodluck:thumbs:
Thanks! I'm gonna need it. :uhoh:

Right now, I REALLY need to get the dash done (mods and re-installed). I'm kinda worried about working on the bed right now though. It seems that we went from winter to spring a month late, and then from spring to summer over night. I'm worried about humidity and temperature for painted purposes. First though I need to work on the dent in the bed. I've never done body work before so it will be a very slow and careful process. Slow and steady wins the race!

I'm kinda using this truck to learn and perfect techniques on before attacking the Silvy in the years to come.

I've never checked... But I don't think they came out
