Cool write up  You've put alot of time and money into it and it shows,my compliments
Thank you Gary.

Some day it will be almost as clean as yours....well, as much as I can get to anyways. You never can get in all the crevices and between panels.

The benefits of our climate.I know Ca. & Az. vehicles are highly coveted in the restoring community.I use an air nozzle with a 3' extension to blow out the leaves and debris in places I can't get my hands on or into.
I'd love to even get a TX vehicle for that matter .
Thanks for the tip!

I've pretty much done everything "minor" to the truck that I can at this point. From here on out it gets more expensive and more in-depth. Time to start saving money, and a lot of it, to basically rebuild/restore the whole thing. Luckily I don't have to worry about the interior at all except for re-padding the seats.

Yes, I'm slightly crazy, but I've had fun this far and plan to keep going :fingersx:.

No problem with being crazy. Hell my truck is 10 years old this year. And I still dump money into it :tmc:

Great write up Matt. And the truck looked great when I seen it at the meet. Can't wait to see it with all the new stuff on it.

Started for the first time in 3 1/2 months!!!

So the weather has warmed up here (unusual for this time of the year) and I decided I really wanted to hear the truck run again. So I went to my grandma's, started it, pulled it out, and let it run for 30 minutes. I've kept the battery on a maintainer for most of the time. I hit the key and she fired right up!
After the 2nd video below (and reving the engine), there was quite a bit of condensation coming out the driver's side tailpipe. Oh well.
My fun was cut short by my brother being unable to start his car (ended up being a loose connection on the battery) :fume:.

Anyways, here's the startup vid (who needs pic whoring when you can video whore! :D).
These videos were shot with a Canon PowerShot SX10 IS digital camera. Not too bad other than the lens was dirty .

Here's one of the tail lights and third brake light....and a little exhaust too.
The adapter Putco sent me (and was supposed to have been in the box) fixed the problem I was having. I'm also planning on installing some 20-LED reverse lights from V-LEDs to match the LED light bar and give me better light output.

If you look closely, you can see the cargo light come on, but I was shooting slightly into the sun on this one.

When the truck was idling, you could hear the fuel pump more than the exhaust in the recording.

I can't believe how much raspy-er the camera makes the exhaust sound.

Sorry, no pics of the lights themselves. As I said, my time was cut short. I really wanted to get pics too :(.

I can't wait to see these lights at night!! :willy:

Looks good man, I love how big my truck feels after driving the tracer for a few weeks. Have any pictures of your center console? I am still tossing around the idea of making one for my truck.

It isn't done, but the outside shape of it is. I'll get some pics tonight possibly for you.

Keep up the good work. I miss my '99. There's something about the GMT400's that just kick ass.
