"Warranties will be unaffected. I'll keep a stash for it." Whew!

Honestly, that will run dry someday and if he can sell them, he probably will. I wouldn't fault the guy for it. I consider the two sets of HIDs I've got as a bargain but for the $40 I payed, a lifetime warranty is a bit far fetched these days for something like that. Enjoy the cheap HIDs while you can but don't be pissed when the warranty is no good in five years.
I'll be happy if they last 5 years, then can replace them. There were prompt on my warranty claim this fall when I had a faulty ballast. I'm sure gonna miss them, they had great customer service IMPO.

:werd: I had a faulty ballast too. No questions asked (other than I had double checked it with another bulb). I paid shipping to them, they paid shipping back. I'll definitely miss DDM's support.

Does anyone know of anyone else for HID's (and at a reasonable price too)?
I heard some good about hidgate on eBay and www.vvme.com

I have had vvme hid's in my truck for 4 years, they may be slightly more but come with a harness and brackets, a bixenon kit 35w with brackets and a harness is $58 from vvme and $66.50 from ddm
VVME looks like the best alternative at this point.

$40 for 35w kits
$55 for 55w kits
(in 9005 and 9006 kits that is)

$17 for replacement 35w ballast (1x)
$24 for replacement 55w ballast (1x)

$16 for replacement 35w bulbs (2x)
$21 for replacement 55w bulbs (2x)

So by the time you replace 1 ballast, you might as well just buy a whole new kit.

Holy Crap!! They want $26 in shipping!

I saw this on their comparison chart for the 35w and 55w kits:
With patented Intelligent Ignition Protection System® (I.I.P.S), this circuit protection system allow the lights to be powered ON and OFF continuously within 0.2 second interval.

0.2 seconds isn't much so I don't really get the point of even saying it. It would be great if someone could come up with a way to protect them for 10 seconds so you could turn off your high's when you meet a car on the road.
