Got tired of not having one, so I went to Lowe's a couple of weeks ago and picked this bad boy up.

Ingersoll Rand, 20 gallon, 2 hp, 135 psi, 5.5 cfm @90 psi. Just right for my garage. Anything bigger wouldn't have fit, and should power anything I'll need for now. Fairly quiet too, can't hear it inside the house.

I helped size a compressor for an air system at one our process facilities in south texas that has pnuematic instruments and sour gas from the wells. One were gonna use can do about 250 scfm at 150 psig

Needless to say its huge

Not bad. Not too big, but should be able to loosen some lug nuts.

 How many compressors is it and I'm assuming there's a dryer since it's tied to pneumatic instruments? The plant redid their air system about two years ago and the company that did them did a horrible job. Mainly the dryer is too small and drowns pneumatic valves out in the winter.

we havent picked a vendor yet but will probably be 2 tanks and one compressor on a cycle. will most likely be a turn key skid with dryer etc. this is the first site we have the need for one so were just starting our process

All of this air compressor talk got me curious...apparently I know nothing about cfm and was way off on scale.

For nerdy people (like me) I thought I'd share the findings. The main plant air system is a 3000cfm system consisting of a 200hp 993cfm IR, a 100hp 560cfm IR, and two 150hp 826cfm Sullair compressors, a 3000cfm dessicant dryer, and a 6000gal main reciever.

I'm in the market for a compressor for my garage. Maybe I'll check this one out! :jester:
