So... A little wet sanding and some cutting polishes are making a huge difference in the finish on this thing. I wish there was an easy way to get these fucking decals off. They really are some stubborn summamabitches.

Marine decals suck to get off.. Some marine places have some adhesive remover that workds really good on fiberglass

Nice score daddy. I have an 89 waverunner same colors in my garage that my parents have owned since new. I have never had to do anything other than charge the battery and go. Did plugs and filters once because I was bored and felt like I should but it ran fine without changing them. These old ones are slow but with the flatish bottom they are more fun than new ones.

Don't be too jealous just yet! :fume:

I finally got my flush kit in today and had a chance to fire the old girl up for a bit. Well, I had smoke rolling out from under the hood; so much so I could not even track down the source.

Did some reading, took the water box (muffler) out and found that a giant chunk of it was missing. So, had to order a new to me ($22, delivered) water box from eBay. I love the availability on eBay but damn, do I hate the shipping times. :fume:

Until I get that in, there's not much else I can do right now but get the decals stripped and get the body in shape.

Oh well, at least the fixes have been cheap so far.
