Why did you PM her the stuff you recommended? Can you post it here?
:dunno:

I didn't see much of an interest for people giving specific recomendations other then good brands and the use/don't use for set ups, so at first I didn't either. :dunno:

Then once I decided to play with it I just copied out of a word doc. and sent it.

I compressed the size and content some ,but this is it mostly.

HU
Kenwood KDV-415U (20 watts RMS X 4)
Dash- 3 ½”
Rockford Fosgate Punch P132 (20 watts RMS)
Rear- 5 1/4”
Rockford Fosgate Punch P152 (40 watts RMS)
AMP
Hifonics HFi100.4 (100 watt RMS@ 4ohm X 4 )
Door- 6 1/2"
Rockford Fosgate Power T1652-S (100 watt RMS)
Subs
MTX Audio TR4510-04(100 watt RMS) (2 -10"s)
OR
MTX Audio T5512-44 (300 watt RMS) (1-12")

I started with a basic and running the dash and rear of the HU and one amp for the subs and front door.

Then when she said $1,000 wasn't "firm" I sent a second upgraded

HU
Kenwood DDX516 (DDX-516)
or
Kenwood DDX616 (DDX-616)

I didn't save the second list just typed it in the second PM. Along with the HU(s) (the first only allowed 2 sets of RCA pe-outs and was only single DIN. I like DD when possible) I suggested getting a second amp seperating the dash and doors on one and the rear and sub(s) on the other and getting different dash and rear door speakers that could handle the higher RMS.

When seperating the 2 general stages she could switch to a D amp for the rear and subs.

I gave those brands and models as examples and a good starting point and suggested her and her husband go listen to some set ups locally with a home made test CD with several specific songs and genres to see what sounds best to thier ears.

 I love it. Yeah definitely go better on the head unit if money allows...it's always the most fun and enjoyable part of a new system. I agree, DD is where it's at (if it fits). I'd say go with the 1 12" sub. It would make things a lot easier. Two 10s would probably be better with a separate amp.

Thanks.:D

I know I'm getting a Double DIN. Single DINs look so small next to a DD(and you MAKE it fit.):crackup:Well in the case of GM. I think most Dodge and Fords are DDs to begin with now a days anyway.:dunno:

I agree the HU is the brain of the sound sytem and the fun part that you have to look at and interact with everyday. Misewell make it a bad ass one.:D You can always add the rest later.
