Right on. I bought a white one brand new in 97. One of my favorites without a doubt.

I have an interesting story about its last day with me

Spill the beans.

In '99 my family and I were off to Alaska, to start our new life. We sold everything except for what we could fit in the back of a brand new Summit 24' enclosed trailer. Brand new 5.7 crate engine in the back of the pick up for our '95 Tahoe that I planned to put in when we got to AK

I put a HD trans cooler, air bags etc to make the trip. 30 miles out of town, and up the second long grade, I was down to 1st gear. At the top the trans started slipping badly, I just burned up the trans. Truck had 25 K miles on it. Limped back to town. My buddy hooked on to the trailer, and ran by the scales...it weighed 9K pounds

Off to the dealer, and in 2 hours I was into a '98 K2500 with a 7.4 Vortec. Off to AK again, same day. Sold the crate engine to a friend, and shoved more furniture in the back to make the wife happy I should have kept the engine.

I had no idea that trailer weighed that much I always learn the hard way. Young and dumb

Sweet truck Brian. The 400's were the last of the solid trucks imo. Of course, T-boning a Cadilac and colliding with front porches tend to mess them up.

Shes got 190K on her.... but hey for $2500 bucks with 4wd and fully loaded.... couldnt pass up the deal. In my area, I can sell this truck for 5500 all day with the trans fixed as it sits... these trucks are hard to find that havent been ragged out and beaten to death. This one is not a cream puff, but solid enough for me to make her nice.

Pretty decent deal for $2500.
With a good transmission, that truck would sell for around $3800-$4000 here.

I found new Gates lower hose for $21.17 and Gates upper one for $17.43 I think that's a good deal you might want to change out all your hoses on that nice looking truck oh don't forget the heater hoses.

Guys the hoses I found were with free s/h thats a deal consider it.

Welp,

The truck has been running flawlessly since the trans rebuild and all the other good stuff.

Recent updates..

New Front Left CV axle replaced, took the metal trim off from around the wheel wells, since they are beat up, found some LED lights in my toolbox, and they fit my reverse lights great haha. Got 2 OEM original key blanks... the ignition lock cylinder, the rubber piece broke off, so I found an OEM original uncoded cylinder... arrived yesterday, having coded today and will install soon. Truck all around has been great to me.

Also cranked the torsion bars about an inch to level the truck up some, and stop the tire rub at full lock. Clears great now.

I love the fact that I am not afraid to park this thing anywhere. I leave it unlocked and all. I did not think I would enjoy owning an older $2500 truck.. but I am really satisfied with no payments and all.

Getting new headlights soon, and possibly HID's.... and still on the hunt for some good seats and glovebox door and dash bezel.
