You betcha
And I don't see anything impressive about a V6 that drinks fuel like a V8. Not to mention that GM has had this technology for years.

For me...I MUCH rather have a "simpleton" V8 that's cheaper to maintain and repair over a overly complex V6.

Hopefully they are reliable. Never liked the idea of relying on turbos. But, the gas mileage is damn impressive.

Not really...

4X4 Suburban mileage: 15/21 Combined 17
Flex TwinForce AWD: 16/21 Combined 18

I really don't see the advantage over a proper V8...so...if someone could explain them to me, that'd be great

I'm not a Ford guy but the boosted motor is putting down good fuel economy when you compare the HP/TQ numbers in a truck. Ford and GM's 5.4/5.3/5.0/6.2L can't get that kind of mileage.

Of course, I knew Chevy could do it better no matter what.

I never said that.

But even still...the Suburban has a lot more capability (towing/hauling and a HUGE weight DIS-advantage)...so it's a wash. And remember...to get the 365 advertised HP of the SHOW...you have to use premium...otherwise power drops.

And for me...as someone who like to have a reliable vehicle.............................................................................bah...screw it...I'll just get myself into trouble.

Yep...these are the best engines in the world. Ford is on a roll...or something...

Reliability will make or break em!

Since this is the first time ever trying this application in a full size truck. It's a lot of weight and pounding to survive. I would hold off buying this entry year and do a wait and see.

Without a doubt.

I understand where Matt is coming from here. If there is not clear MPG advantage, there really is no reason to buy one of these over a traditional V8. Time will tell I guess.

Very diplomatic....:jester:

But even if there is a clear MPG advantage...how long will it take to pay it off? That's why hybrids are a joke. You can get a Fusion S that will use ~$1600 a year in fuel...or a Fusion Hybrid that will use ~$1050 a year in fuel....but starts about $8500 MORE than the Fusion S. It will take you 15.4 years to pay that off that premium....and that is just not worth it.

This reminds me of a certain iPhone vs. Evo 4G YouTube clip.

:dunno: Although it's a great idea, I think I'll stick with a V8.

I'd happily roll with the turbo V6 if it gave me 25 MPG instead of 16-17. Overall truck price will probably not be much diffferent than a base V8 truck once it's all said and done. Like I say... time will tell.
