Being that I am a Chevy boy I do hate to say this but we actually need Toyota and Honda to continue to build and sell quality automobiles... And I say this because if you look at where we were about 8-15 years ago Chevy's were just Chevy's...
I look at my black truck and its nothing special as far as luxury or quality... Best thing it has going for it is "I" think it looks good and it runs good. These trucks always did carry a descent resale value...
Our 2002 Cavalier that I had was a great car but there were many things about it that showed how low quality it was... It was still a really cheap car when purchased new...
And to look back people just bought Chevy's, Ford's and Dodges because thats what people bought. That all changed when the foreign cars became the new consumer buy that started close to 15-20 years ago..... Then to attribute the recent recession and the continual decline of our economy Chevy and the other companies of that other company's had a lot of work ahead of them. They had to make changes in all areas; Power, appeal, luxury, reliability, quality, and economy..
GM has improved on this greatly in the last 5 years and has made me more proud than ever to be a fan... They must continue this to eventually walk out from the Government.
Another thing that I noticed was I used to walk the lot at the dealer just to see what's available. When we were looking for a vehicle for the wife we did not go there for a Equinox. But as it was new and when we saw it we loved it...
Honestly, we would never have bought an older Equinox and everything about the one we got we love..
Sorry that this is happening but just like we have seen people still bought GM's with all previous recalls so will people continue to buy Toyota's....
Just my .02 cents.
