For sure! I love DeWalt, I have a lot of thier product. If I can get it, I will

I don't like the handle. Looks like something for a weedeater. Mine has the single handle that sticks out to the side and is movable from side to side. I much prefer that for better control of the tool.

I've never had any issue damaging paint or doing away with swirls. You do have to know a little bit about what you are doing, but I think you already know that.

The guys at work use a dewalt like the one Jim posted, and we also have an older porter cable. Both seem to work good.

Yeah I would recommend going with the PC or Flex, thats the one everyone on the online detailer forums recommends.

dylan had a great analogy for the PC, Flex, and a rotary buffer about paint correction. think of your clearcoat as yourself digging for a pool. a PC would be like digging with a spoon, a fine correction for moderately damaged paint. a Flex is more of a shovel and get rid of those deep scratches. a rotary is like a backhoe and should ONLY be used to get out nasty scratches and such. if you are worried about not doing overboard, pick up the 4 inch kit for your drill to fix big scratches and a PC.

they have Volume 7 out on video now, even though now its not up to date with a few new products they just released:

Thanks Geoff! I appreciate the info! I might just go with the PC

I've used a rotary polisher for decades. In fact every one of our paint shops still use only rotary buffers / polishers to cut and buff new paint. They are not going to cause damage to the paint unless the user is an idiot (which we all sometimes can be). Most of these dual action orbital polishers are pretty worthless unless you are just shining up your factory paint that has no issues... kinda like waxing.

yeah i mean the PC is pretty good for what i need, i have a harbor freight buffer that i used to wax it with once, but the buffer does cut quite a bit of clearcoat. id say a PC for your regular arsenal and if you need the 4 inch focus pads on your drill, that would work too for the big scratches. i hope i can get the swirls/scratches otta my truck or ill have to find someone with a flex lol.
