1990 k1500 4x4 350 Throttle body. shut off the other day when i was driving it without my foot on the gas. i figured it was out of gas so filled it up. It starts right up fine then dies. i can start it and press the gas barely to keep it going but it's loping bad and wanting to die and if i give it more than just a little bit of throttle it dies. i replaced the fuel filter, new plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. what might it be?

It seems to be getting some gas to the TBI idk if it's enough though :dunno:. could it be the fuel pump?. and it sounds like a vaccum leak but all the hoses i took off and checked they had vaccum so not sure if i just over looked something

If it runs with your foot into it I dont think its the pump, they either work or they don't.( at least in my experiences) Air idle contol or map sensors F up in TBI's easily enough and are cheaper than fuel pumps.
I know my 98 Dakota we had to idle up to 2500RPM to keep from stalling/lopping hard, changed both AIC & Map sensor and it ran fine.

I have had a couple exhibit this exact problem, and it be the pump.

In fact, my Tahoe JUST did this. It would idle. Give it gas, and it blubbered and died.

I had a '91 do the exact same thing, and you could give it just a little more throttle.

You are correct, 95% just don't start at all, but some do act like this when the pump fails

I have to side with the majority on this one, and say the fuel pump.

mine wont even idle though as soon as it starts up it dies 5 sec. later. and it dies if i even press the gas ever so slightyly
