On Sunday afternoon I got a frantic call at work from my son. My wife was in an accident and wrecked her car pretty good. My daughter was also in the car with her. Thank god there were no serious injuries. :halo: My 8 year old daughter has a pretty large abrasion on her neck from the seatbelt. And the wife has a sore neck, both could have been FAR worse.
They both walked away from this.

I am thankful that they were both wearing seatbelts.

I'm glad they're both mostly alright. Did I read correctly on FB, she rear-ended her dad's truck?

Yes Michael, she was following her parents (and my son was in the truck with her parents) as they were all gonna go eat lunch somewhere. Her dad stopped pretty quick and she wasn't paying close enough attention apparently and she plowed right into the back of his Silverado. The only damage to his truck is the rear bumper. I was surprised that there wasn't even a scratch on the bedside or even the tailgate.

Glad to hear the family is ok, that's the important part. As far as the car goes...

And while there is no denying that the accident was her fault, it least she hit her dad and not someone who will try to sue us. Also, because it was her dad that she hit, the police officers decided there was no point in issuing any citations since there obviously would not be any litigation involved.
I think it also had to do with them not wanting to do more paperwork
So while I'm sure our insurance will go up because of this, at lease she won't have an accident at fault on her driving record now.

Good to hear no one was hurt bad. I'd bet your wife is a little embarrassed running into the back of her dads truck. :ohnoes:

Yeah, a little.

She has apologized only like 238 times so far. He keeps saying that as long as everyone is OK, that's all he's worried about. We both have State Farm, so they are taking care of everything pretty smoothly. They already said that the Altima is a total loss.:(
It sucks because I have taken care of that car since day one. I ran full synthetic oil in it since the first oil change at 3000 miles, and strictly AMSOIL for the past few years now. The engine ran very smooth for an 8 year old car. I believe I posted pictures a while back when I had to replace the valve cover gasket. I was astonished at how clean the inside of the engine was at 120k miles.

So, where are the pics of the new ride?

As soon as they said it was a total loss, we went out looking for a car to replace it. She likes Nissans,so that is where we went shopping. Due my horrible credit right now (its a long story) they wanted like 30% interest on a used car. But since we financed the 05 with NMAC, we at least had somewhat good standings with them, but they won't finance used cars, only new Nissan vehicles. So we went thru the app process and I was actually shocked to get approved for 7.9% on a 2014 Altima.
So we signed the papers last night on a gunmetal gray 2014 Altima SV.
