Any other shops around? Sounds like they're stupid.

Stupid doesn't even begin to cover it. At least not at my local Costco. They have a rule that all lugs must be torqued to what the book calls for, and if it's not on their chart, and you can't show it to them in your owner's manual, they won't touch it. That's all well and good, but does not allow for things like aftermarket rims that may need a different torque. And the only person in the shop allowed to use the (they only have one) torque wrench is the manager. (They don't use torque sticks) That's still not too bad I suppose, it keeps the "mechanics" they have from busting the wrench using it as a breaker bar, but the manager himself has no clue (or training - I asked) on how to use a torque wrench. He just uses it as a regular wrench, and jerks on it until "it feels right". He has no idea how to set it, and doesn't know what the click means (he thought the wrench was getting old and loose on the handle - and that was why it was making that noise)

This is the same idiot I had to physically drag out through the driver's window of my truck after he tried to pull it into a bay with an 8 foot door (truck is 12 foot high) with me and all his mechanics yelling at him to stop. He did stop, looked up and did one of those "opps" faces, then backed up about 6' and tried to angle it into the next bay (14' door). When he realized the mirror wasn't going to clear he then grabbed it with both hands and tried to fold it in - my mirrors don't fold. They're rigid stainless mounted right to the door. He refused then to get the fWONk out of my truck (ordered him out three times - with someone now recording it on their cellphone) and when he refused the third time I grabbed him by his hair and his shirt and yanked him out through the driver's window and put him on the ground.

When the state trooper showed up (several people called) and was shown the video, his only question was "do you want to press charges for unauthorized vehicle use?" When the shop manager complained that I assaulted him the trooper advised him that it would be in his very best interests to shut his mouth and not say one more word, and that it seemed to him that I used reasonable force to prevent further damage to my vehicle by a person possibly under the influence of a controlled substance. When the store manager came out he tried to laugh it off and say that I should have let the shop manager do what he was doing, because their insurance would have covered any damage, the trooper muttered something about needing to get the damn dog down here and check the whole place for drugs.

I don't get tires at Costco anymore.

Video or GTFO.

Oh hell, that was four years ago and I'm not the one who took the video, it was some other guy standing there with his phone who showed it to the trooper when he got there.

I can't help it if you don't have your priorities in order. :)

If any situation ever got bad enough for me to remove a man from a vehicle through a window, you better believe I'd be asking the witnesses to email me a copy of the footage.

Holy.
Costco.
Hell.
So, after the new tire install of the Dueler HL Alenza Plus, which are supposed to be sooooo smooth...I get gnarly steering wheel shake.
Back to Costco. Re-balance. "Sir, you have aftermarket wheels, and this truck is old"
I check the front end. Still perfect, because my maintenance is overboard.
Back to Costco. "Your wheels are the problem"
Alcoa Forged wheels. They have been perfect for over 10 years, and Costco has put a few sets on this thing. It has driven like silk. We love this old truck.
Off to my favorite tire dealer. 1 hour later, after re-mounting, and rebalancing, our old 'hoe is again driving like a dream.

So done with Costco. Not even a "Sorry you had to come back again"
