So today my Service Engine Soon light came on while I was idling at a stoplight. It stayed on till the last time I started it up, which was just a lil while ago to go to my local Advance auto parts to get them to pull the code for me. The guy hooked up the code reader to it and he said "All it says is sytstem running rich". He then said "most likely its your O2 sensors, thats what usually will make it run rich". I honestly don't know if he knows what he was talking about or not, so what do you guys think. What else could cause my engine to run rich? Also, when Justin did my tune 2 weeks ago, he mentioned that my Mass Airflow Sensor wasn't reading right. He said it was reading about like a sensor on a 4.8 liter engine would read. He then had me stop so he could make a few tweaks because of that. Not sure if that would have anything to do with it running rich or not. :dunno: The light is now off and hasn't come back on since. What else should I look for if the light comes back on?

I'd drop Justin an email since he spotted something going in. He's pretty sharp on this stuff!

Your 'burban is probably about due for O2 sensors anyways. Also wouldn't hurt to try cleaning your MAF if you haven't already.

FYI O2 sensors are the cause of EVERYTHING when you take it ot autozone.

Rich/Lean does not mean it is an O2 sensor. Diagnostics is what you need. Code readers can not do this. use the write ups for diagnosing the sensors.

Depending on what vehichle your talking about you will also want to check to see if your due for a tune up.

I agree with pops, get it scanned , or buy a scanner, everybody sells them now, buy what you can afford. A scanner will pay for itself in no time.CM65:)

Send Justin an email to have him check over your tune log for ya. In the meantime, I would clean the MAF, and maybe swap out those sensors.
