one injector was spraying a pretty good cone the other one was spraying just a little less fuel then the other one. I didn't see what happened when I opened the throttle. I didn't want to piss off my neighbors. what should I see if my fuel pump isn't supplying enough fuel or pressure? and no I'm not in so-cal. I'm in CO.

I also cleaned out my EGR and IAC about 300 miles ago.

Try switching the injector connectors and see if the cone pattern goes to the opposite injector. This should tell you if your injectors are ok.

It's possible the ignition module in the distributor is going bad also.

I was thinking if you lived in SoCal we could meet and I could use my laptop to see what's going on with all your sensors.

I'll try that when I have some free time at high school.

I hope its just my ignition module. since I have a spare one in the glove box.

can you do that with an OBD1 system?

where do I get that? and how much is it? that'll be very helpful on my obd1 vehicles.

I've noticed some other things that maybe will help identify whats going on. My gas gauge has been flickering around where the fuel level is, my engine has lost about 20-25% responsiveness, the exhaust note is about twice as loud as before, the exhaust also smells off but it doesn't smell like when my camaro was running rich, its also getting to operating temps quicker then normal.

edit: I switched the injector clips and now I'm getting an even flow from both injectors. is there too much resistance in my injector clips or are both my injectors going bad?

If it runs more or less NORMAL until you really give it gas... it could be a catalytic converter getting stopped up...

the last owner took out the kitty. and my shop teacher suggested replacing the fuel filter so I'm going to be replacing that tomorrow, and I'm gonna feel really stupid if its just that causing all my issues. <.<

Good idea if you don't know how old it is.

The program I use is Tuner Pro RT and is free.It can be a little tough to use at first. You Tube has many videos on learning how to use it.I'm still learning after a year and a half and has helped me diagnose a few problems with my burb in that year and a half.

Check it out http://tunerpro.net/

the junk coming out of the filter was solid black so would it be a good idea to take the TBI off and clean it out?

also where can I get the tools I need to test my fuel pressure?
