MPG on a 24 Valve Cummins?

Hey guys, anyone got a 24 Valve cummins and know what kinda MPG's they're getting? I'm only averaging around 14.5-15

Just the engine by itself? Zero MPG... no wheels on it.

Yeah, I know, that sounds like a dumb answer, but that's because you don't give much info in the question.

It's like asking, "How high can a plane go?" What kind of plane?

In your case, MPG is going to depend on a shitload of factors... What truck? What rear end ratio? Auto or manual? 2x4 or 4x4? Cap on the back? Lifted? What kind of tires? How much pressure? Any mods to the engine?

:dunno:

Well...not to come across as a a$$, especially since i'm new here, but thats why i made the sig, so when in doubt, you'd know. But...regardless, my cummins is in a 2001 Dodge Ram 4X4. Stock everything right now, replaced the torque converter, blocks in the rear

we had an 07 dodge at work here as a service truck, it had over 100k miles on it and you had to bag it get get down to 18mpg, usually was in th 21 range, tho seen as high a 24mpg, they must get better with age. :dunno: it was copletly stock and weighed probly 12k #`s.

they respond well to intake exhaust and tuning modifications.

My roommate had the 6-speed and 3.55 gears and got 23-24mpg. That was with and intake, chip, and exhaust.

Only one I have any experience with got around 18 MPG. It was a company truck that ran long distance pickups/deliveries and had a heavy commercial bed on it.
