They take all of the fun out of riding. Basically you are left with a three wheel golf cart.

that is how I see it as well. However, from time to time I see a cool looking set up.

I used to not like side-cars so much, but they're not bad for their purpose. I'd still rather ride a motorcycle with side-car than a hybrid car anyways...
