Dads at the house now and he said that the damage is over 75% of the trucks value which is $7,700. On top of that, the little bitch that hit my mom isn't answering phone calls anymore.

Is it 4wd?

It's been wrecked.

No shit... :jester: To figure out if its totaled You take the value of the truck in perfect condition with consideration of mileage ($7,700) and if the repair cost is more than 3/4 the value before it was wrecked ($7,700) then it's totaled. My dads truck before it was wrecked in perfect condition sells for around $6500-$7500 in my area.

It's my understanding that in most places the value of the vehicle is considered based on the condition just prior to the accident. I'll wait for Jim to chime in but I doubt perfect condition is the default, especially considering the fact most cars are never in perfect condition.

When I wrecked my 98 s-10 5 years or so ago they have me what the truck was worth in perfect condition although they inspected it and took pictures of the trucks condition when I got the insurance. :dunno: Maybe it's different in other states.

I have had two vehicles totaled (both with state farm). Both times, they gave me NADA retail value. Now I know they have high retail and low retail, I don't know which one they go by. :dunno:
