The ONLY way her insurance will pay is if she has full coverage on her vehicle and the uninsured vehicle she hit your mom with was just purchased less than 10 days ago. In Louisiana, you can buy a second vehicle, and it is automatically insured when you drive off the lot. You have 10 days to officially add it to your policy. Now if this was not a car she had just purchased, then her insurance will NOT cover it. If its her boyfriend's car, he should have insurance on the car. If not, you're fWONked. Your only saving grace would be if your mom has uninsured motorist coverage on her insurance. If she does, they should pay for 100% of the damage. There is no deductible on Uninsured Motorist coverage in Louisiana.
