Insurance should be carried for EACH vehicle you own. Just because you have one insured, doesn't give you the right to swap it over to an uninsured vehicle if you have an accident. I have full coverage on 3 vehicles, if I drop coverage on one of them that means it isn't covered. The insurance company will tell you that you're shit out of luck.

If she has a homeowners or a renters policy the umbrella liability portion can cover the damages

I guess I'm just not clear on the whole situation since the info seems to be scattered throughout this thread in several posts.
So since I'm trying to read this from my phone I'll excuse myself from the topic. Sorry.

It's not heaven . . . it's Iowa!
I have State Farm and have asked about rental car insurance. They told me that I am covered if I am driving a rental car, with the insurance from my truck. But technically if my truck was driven and wrecked, while I was out of town and driving the rental, the truck wouldn't be covered.

That's odd.

Maybe I worded it poorly, but he basically told me the insurance follows me as the driver. And therefore, if I'm the "driver" on my truck, it wouldn't be driven if I weren't there.
